From 2 years old to 2014

ok so being pregnant had me REALLY BUSY, sorry- this was never updated so I will just click save… my computer is way behind on saving and filing pics, sorry Callie. we love u so much!

----

Looks like I was too busy to click publish… you know, like almost a year ago!?

What a Holiday season it has been! Since Callie's birthday, she has learned so much, impressing us every minute. She has her moments, but the best advice we were given when I was pregnant (I think?) was: "everything is only a phase".

Callie now will operate on a counting system, so when we attempt to count to 3, she stops at 1, good thing, because sometimes there is no plan for a 4 lol. I am assuming at her school they count, because we have not ever used that at home until I stumbled upon her reaction accidentally!

THANKSGIVING: We travelled to Miami as always, and Callie refused to sleep in the car. It made us reflect on the "everything is only a phase" advice, because now that she is potty trained, grass seemed greener when she didn't request us stopping multiple times on a 4 hour trip, to go potty, only to want to wash her hands and use "bubble soap", or risk accidents. For the most part, she does well in the car, but when getting a little antsy and needy will ask for Mommy's hand, hence my really bad shoulder that has developed somehow! She loves to look for "yellow school buses" when we drive, and will break out in to musicals of mixed songs ranging from The Itsy Bitsy Spider to Wheels on the Bus to I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee.

Callie's months in review:

December 3: I said "It's hot", she replied "It's not hot Mommy it's cold"... Came in from school and saw my hair was wet and inferred by saying "Mommy shower?"

December 4: Callie pretending to do my hair and said "Pretty mommy princess sofia" (when she fights us to do her hair, we say we will make her look like Sofia), Another Date Night with Daddy and Aurelia's Daddy!

December 7- We participated in a Santa Fest Parade in Tampa. Callie enjoyed waving to the people lining the fences, as we parade through downtown Tampa with many Mini drivers!

December 8: Callie smeared ketchup on the walls TWICE, but had to clean up her mess each ime.

December 10: Callie asked "Where's Daddy?" I said "He will be home soon from work", to which her reply was "One minute?", concept of time is so awesome now (knows tonight, tomorrow "morrow", later, and soon).

Mid december started having an imaginary puppy somewhere in the house. She does NOT like puppies, so it's not really an imaginary friend, as she will randomly fear/see/say "no puppy", and cover her eyes.  Started wanting the light on more, I think she she is having nightmares about dogs, since developmentally, now her age can connect reality with fantasy to create dreams/nightmares! She also started saying "Oh goodness!" (no clue where she picked that up!), Callie walked outside and said "it's cold", pointed to her cup of soy and said "ice cream?" Trying to figure out if she recognizes that when ice cream melts it looks like milk??? she has been having random coconut milk vanilla ice cream, but unsure!

December 13: spent the weekend with Mema, Ro and Hank while Mommy and Daddy went to holiday parties and did a race downtown.

December 19: Tio and Titi came to visit

December 22: Liam and his Mommy/Daddy came
over for our annual Christmas dinner!

We went to Daddy's school for a Holiday show

December 23: Followup Allergy appt- will re-screen in summertime, but still showing signs of milk and egg allergies.

December 24: Christmas Eve party in Miami:

December 25:  Christmas!!!!

NEW LOVES: Still loves ketchup on everything, Still loves Sofia the First,

NEW WORDS/PHRASES: Uses amulet often when playing with Sofia dolls, I don't like it,  11/30: said "Mommy I know weeks", I said "You know weeks?", she said "Yes- Monday, Tuesday...", says "I will rock you", for going to bedtime,

As of December, counts to 13.

SONGS SHE SINGS ON REPEAT: Days of the week song in English and Spanish (Doesn't know ALL of it in Spanish)…

NOW I WILL CLICK SUBMIT, and possibly catch you up on what happened since LAST DECEMBER, MY BAD!

October 2014- Callie's new phrases are "I don't think so", and "you always ____".
she is a HOOT! She loves Peppa Pig videos on youtube, and that is how we get her out of her bed in the mornings! She actually asked where Peppa lives, and told us she wants to visit Peppa and her family in England after her brother is born!

Her teacher said she knows "everything", and is trying to run the class like a teacher. Sorry! She pretends to lead circle time at home and in the car, accompanied with "good job kids", and "time for calendar song"… Future teacher in the making?

Two Years Old!

In the blink of an eye, Callie has turned two.  Well, technically, over a month ago she did! She is just an amazing little munchkin, so full of energy and spunk! (Read: attitude, opinion, and a master of the word "no" )

For her birthday, we had a modernized version of a Sofia the First birthday party, accompanied by some princess/royal themed snacks.

baby Callie and 2 years later

Family drove in from Miami to celebrate, and we had friends and family from close by come too! Callie had some of her friends come to play!

Callie is still very friendly at school, Miss Social Butterfly as she is referred to. Her teachers love her, and she is still using her manners 90% of the time! (The attitude machine is broken, so I don't know her true percentage!)

Callie is impressing us every day. She LOVES watching football with daddy, which she calls "ooftall". She points to her head and says "boo boo" when they collide (Mommy knows NOTHING about sports), and she will scream "hooray, go dolphins", and cheer with daddy. It is so cute to see her have a bond with Kahlil!

Callie has moved to the next room up at her school. The other day, when I picked her up, she said "Callie bags in cubby, come Mommy", as she ran and pushed through 2 connecting doors, and pointed to her new classroom saying "in Bumblebees (new room) right there!" Social skills run in the family, right? Her sentences are getting longer, and she is very expressive, and loves to scream and cry and have fits- terrible twos what?

Since the last blog, Callie has learned so many words, it would be impossible to continue to keep score.
The pediatrician said she is advanced. Good news to hear, because I talk to her A LOT, and work with her often! OK- bragging done.

FLASHBACK DATA:

Starting back last April, she started with 2- word sentences like "rice hot"...

May: started calling her pacificer "paci" instead of "packy". Said "enup" for clean up... recognized a few letters only. "ickle" is tickle. "Help me please". "hockey" for horsey.
June: plays kitchen, says "yea" to questions, opens ipad to her books and interacts with them. June 22- jumped up! Says "Ipad please" Loves splash parks now! Says "Ready... go", can build towers of blocks up. Learned "sneaky" eye. June 25= calls balloon a lalloon. 19 months can fully operate the ipad. Held a baby and fed baby, changed diaper...asks for window to be down in car. Started saying "a" in front of object words, grapes= meeps, counts to 3.

June: started saying her name as "Callie". Says Ketchup clearly. Cheerios are "rios", closes her eyes, and thinks we cannot see her, ate some purple crayon, 22nd- jumped for the first time, double feet...

July: doesn't like fireworks, says animals, went to Liam's birthday, counts objects like cows on a sign at  Chick-fil-a aka "Moo Moo",  says "I did it!",  "baby agua" aka very small amount of water coming out of spout, says "okay".

August 1: allergist appointment, hated a lollipop, verdict- SEVERE egg allergy, on top of her still dairy allergy...August 2- started the 3 day potty training at 21 months, and TADA, it worked. Day 1 we threw the diapers away and said every few minutes "tell me when you have to go potty"... it was a disaster- peeing everywhere like a new puppy, day 2 she started signaling, still keeping us at bay with towels around the house ready to clean up leaks, day 3 she only had 2 accidents. By week 2 she was probably 90% trained. august 11- tried cereal and soy milk together for the first time. Enjoyed sorting silverwear while she calmed down from a tantrum, names her classmates, end of month, knows concept of heavy.

September: uses "excuse me", says tiny and big to compare objects (elephants in this case),  says "Callie's turn" and "I wanna hold it",  daddy spooked Callie in hide and seek and she said "Daddy scare me rawr!" Says "it's sunny, gasses peez",  knows and says "push", said "feet and neck, no hand" while shaking her head telling me she understood where to apply her cold roll on of oils.

October-:says "you're silly daddy", asks for "huggies" (hugs), climbed on a chair and stood on her highchair (needed oils to calm down- mommy that is), says "ummmm" when thinking, had her first braid, says "good morning mommy/daddy", says "vamos ok", Had a great halloween dressed up as a Monsters Inc. Family

November: slathered aquafor all over her hair (fun, not), says and uses the contraction where's" "where's daddy? Where's paci?", locks doors, 9th- counts to 13 and also now says "I no like it", daddy date night with some school friends, wanted noodles for breakfast- took them in a container in the car for her (veggie spirals),  fights about color of ponytails, if we can even get one in, jackets, shirts, which underwear, everything is "sofia's____" (the frog underwear is sofia's frog etc), says jacket, zip, amulet.

TWO YEAR STATS: 2 FEET 8.5 INCHES, 25 LBS (with clothes).

Christmas post will be started by February- ha! Mommy life is fast-paced, with not a lot of down time.
