Well, Callie has adjusted SO well to daycare, that she caught a cold. BOO. We THINK that is where she got it, and it is kind of sad. "The first six months of daycare, expect her to be sick"... I HATE THIS.

HATE, HATE, HATE.

We really have no other options though... sigh.

Mommy has a cold too- not fun on a week back to work.

Callie has been making some amazing progress lately. Instead of moving her eyes to follow your face, she now will move her head/neck to face your direction! It is the silly things I notice that makes me SO happy. "hey- that's new", is a good feeling!

We went to a pedi appt yesterday, and the scale said 10.10, but with clothes and a diaper on, so the nurse said she probably is close to 10lb.

She had a lot of congestion, wax build-up, and gunk in her nose. So, now before feeds, she needs saline drops and a bulb syringe to remove the nose gunk (daycare did not send it home in her bag- ugh).

She is smiling when we smile at her, and this is such a JOY to see her interact. Everyone comments on her talking skills and sounds! Our doc wants us to take her to an ENT to ensure that there is nothing wrong with her larynx/vocal chords, as she makes the sounds while exhaling. We just thought she was noisy hehe.

This past weekend Callie met her great, great aunt and uncle, as well as more family and cousins (2nd? 3rd? who know's the definitions anymore...)

Last night Callie slept in the bassinet FLAT on her back for 7 hours! We used the little wedge to keep her in place (wiggle worm), and she did well!

I am so tired, sorry y'all. Callie said she will do something cool soon, so I can post more. I know we have more pictures, but need more time!!!!

daycare!

I picked Callie up today from daycare, and she was ALL SMILES and coos! It was SO nice to see and feel loved, after a rough first day back to teaching!

The ladies at daycare love her- they even love her "sounds while drinking" lol- our little one is VERY verbal!

Callie has been doing really well at daycare, as she gets "report cards" sent home daily.

Everyone at work loves the pictures of Callie!

WE ARE IN SUCH LOVE.

Milestones: Callie recognizes our voice, and will have "conversations" with us, and Mr. Lion (hanging toy in carrier). She smiles A LOT.

She is prepping for crawling, by lifting her head during tummy time.

She is saying all of her vowel sounds (no, she does not recognize her letters yet, but can say them all in her coos!)

Times have been busy lately, but I will post more son.

Daycare!

So, Debbie was supposed to watch Callie today on my day back to work, but she caught a cold. Respectfully, she told me, so Callie started daycare a little early.

Mommy called at 12:30 to check on her. She was sleeping!

Today Mommy took her kindergarten class on a field trip, but really wanted to be at home with her Callie!!!

Callie has really blossomed lately. She is now grabbing more things: burp rags like blankets, holding on to more toys, oh- and my hair!

She rests her hands more on her bottles more often.

We are trying to transition to 5 oz bottles, only a few times a day right now. We do not go back to the pediatrician until her 4 month appt, so we need to guesstimate the ounces based on her feedback. Lately, we have had some throw up sessions, which are not fun. Callie projectile vomitted across our king-size bed (soaking through the duvet and sheets!), as well as across the couch (soaking through Mommy's pants)... and more.

Callie is staying up in between feeds now for a longer stretch. Today at daycare, they even mentioned that the 3rd feed, they noticed she did not sleep in between, like her first two bottles.

Mommy is exhausted. Her feet ache. Her throat hurts.

The blog will certainly slow down some while I acclimate to working!

Callie is 11 weeks old, that is so insane... stay tuned for more updates... I for sure will post her 3 months pictures on the 2nd!

Waterfalls aren't always pretty

... Let's just say, I never thought GIRLS would produce waterfall showers of pee. Fun times. Callie has done this during diaper changes maybe 5 times, as well as a few dirty waterfalls. THAT WAS GROSS. I will relish in the fact that SOMEDAY, we all will read back on this blog (I suppose I will print it...?), and laugh.

Callie was having fun cooing and smiling at her animal friends.

Callie was holding the Soothie pacifier... still not sure if we will call it paci, bobo (or what... lol)

Thanks Callie- your truly have been entertaining in ALL types of ways. You know, being Callie's mommy is never a dull moment. I love it all.

Kickin' it up a notch

Callie has discovered how to coordinate her hands, and now her feet. She is kicking away! While in her "GM" (Ghetto Mobile- long story), she now can kick off her blanket, to expose her feet. Daddy likes his feet exposed too under the covers- Daddy's little mini-me in the making! She also grabbed her feet yesterday (Mommy did not see this!).

Last night Callie slept from 11:15 pm until 6:50 am!!! WOW!

She also watched Baby Einstein: Mozart twice today.

Callie took a nap lying flat on her back in her new favorite flat spot, her Chicco play yard! We are slowly trying to transition her to her crib, and she usually naps/sleeps in her favorite swing.

Callie is smiling and cooing more than before. She recognizes our voices, and looks for us when we talk. She will smile and coo back when we "talk" to her in silly sounds.

At the end of this month, Callie is going to visit Palm City and meet her family there! We are excited!

She is also REALLY enjoying bath time now!

Mommy is NOT looking forward to bringing her to a daycare soon. If someone has a connection in OCPS for an ELC job, now would be the time to help Mommy work from home, or the ELC with different hours!

Just saying'

Having fun with the mail-order Warby Parker samples (just clear lenses, not a prescription!)

Companions? Perhaps in a few years... Jealous doggy.

IN MY BUMBO like a big girl!!! Practicing for the race cars

Silly faces

Mommy scored a great deal- 78% savings... the things we do for your expensive formula... but hey, it works, and we want your belly to be happy! If anyone wants to share coupons for ALL detergent, please... we like laundry here apparently!

Cutie Pie

watching Baby Einstein DVD

Napping FLAT. yay! We are slowly going to get Callie sleeping on her back for naps, and then in her crib. Reflux is not a fun thing to have. The GI specialist thinks between 4-6 months she will be done with spit up/reflux issues, and by 6 months is when the pediatrician suggested moving her out of our room anyway (although her swing is outside of our doorway.)

Stay tuned...bookmark the blog, and come on back!

Fun Times!

Callie went to bed a little after 1:30 last night, and we took her out for a diaper change at 7:50am!!!! Holy Cannoli! She did wake and make some small cries and whines, but by the time I stood up out of bed, she was back to sleep.

I think the key to THIS type of sleep, was that she was kept awake from her 7:30 feed until her 10:30 feed. She only slept a few minutes in the car to and from frozen yogurt.

This morning Callie had a wonderful present for Abuela. She projected her poop 4 feet across the room and on to the wall. FUN.

Can you believe there is always one load of laundry a day? If not more! Now Callie is playing with Abuela and smiling, laughing and cooing.

Let's see what happens the rest of the day!

Callie's update

Callie has put herself to sleep today during two of her naps! During one nap, we inked her right hand up really well, and took some impressions for her baby book and wall frame from Grandma. She had her footprints done in the hospital, so we have extras of those!

Today Callie also sat in her Bumbo chair. She enjoyed play time sitting in it, working on her neck and back sitting muscles! I am so impressed and proud of her milestones!

Tonight, Abuelo and Abuelita are coming in to town to visit for the night/tomorrow. Callie will be getting a lot of attention, and hopefully I can sneak out to run some errands :)

The past few days have been a little rough in the evenings. As soon as Callie got her 2 month shots, she has surely had some side effects: extra poops, less eating, fussiness at night. I am thankful she did not get a fever, which we were warned about. For her next pediatrician appointment, she will get the exact set of vaccines, which does not make me look forward to that appointment. It is such a terrible feeling to see your child cry from shots! She did the oral vaccination fine, sucking it down from the snap tube. She took the first needle fine too, with no tears. The third shot, we were warned, burns them as the liquid goes in... and man- she screamed bloody murder. I picked her up, and she shortly after calmed down. Not fun.

I want to say thank you to all of our friends and family who have been mailing me coupons! This really helps us out! I was not planning on feeding her formula, but we are following her path of health, and this is what is necessary for her now (unless I go Vegan, and right now, one more stressor/thing to worry about monitoring just is not feasible I think.) I am proud that I was able to breastfeed her for over a month, so I pray she got immunities and antibodies that short amount of time.

She is still on Zantac for her reflux. She hopefully will outgrow this soon. I was told that between 4-6 months she should outgrow it. She is still on her oral thrush med Nystatin, and a new fun butt cream Vusion!

Callie is still in awe with the huge frame on the living room wall. She stared at it from her Bumbo today!

Gotta go, like clockwork, she is crying... fussy at night... hope this ends soon.

Callie is TWO months old!

Time is flying by!

Callie was two months old on January 2, 2012. That is a bit different... 2012! I just got used to writing 2011!

As far as milestones, Callie is doing amazing! She:
-can hold her head up (was early on this by a lot)
- recognize voices
-coo
-smile
- notice and focus on colorful shapes and objects
- focus on a mirror (and smile!)
-pushing up to stand up while being held
-crawls across a pillow for tummy time
-sleeping longer through the night
-gaining weight, height, head circumference
-puts her fingers in her mouth (and I saw once, her nose)

She helps "hold" the bottle some times by resting her hands on the bottle. She now can coordinate her hands/eyes to knock a toy hanging from her carrier. She will continue to get more focused on this. She smiles at the rattles and hanging toys. She really is a happy baby!

This week at her appointment, she weight 9.13 and "on target" for being "petite" YAY.

She now is allowed to sleep at night without a 3-4 hour wakeup. In fact, the first night, she slept 5 hours and change, and last night she slept from 11pm to 6:15 am!!! What a relief this will be for Mommy and Daddy!

Below are some pictures to update you.

Enjoy, bookmark this site, and come back frequently! (Side note: The blog was just monetized, so I am hoping the views and ads/clicking on the side, will help pay for some Nutramigen formula if we cannot get it covered by insurance!) Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been sending us the Enfamil  and ALL brand detergent coupons!!! If anyone knows an Enfamil Sales Rep, please let me know!!!

Callie is TWO months old!

She finally napped flat. We are trying to have her nap slowly only her back (as long as she is awake after her feed first to avoid the reflux.)

Mmm. Brrr... Orlando was 33-38 degrees!

Callie is focusing on the TV a lot lately.

Patch wanted attention

All smiles...

Bundled up for the 2 month check up appointment with Dr. Morales

9.13 Making great gains!

Cutie

Smile!

Callie's signature pose: Hands under the Lamb pillow of her Fisher Price Swing! She LOVES napping and sleeping here.

Callie is really enjoying bath time! She LOVES warm water!
