Twelve Months/ One Year Old!

Callie is SO on the move, we cannot get a better picture, and this blog is many weeks behind! So sorry!

(I had a ton of videos to post as well, but the website system froze, so look for them another day!)

Our Callie is 1!!!

I always heard "It will go by way too fast", and here I am folks, I can confirm this...
Between the first few days of life of the uncertainty of what to expect after never having a child before, to a year later throwing a birthday party and inviting other babies over... It has been an amazing journey. The journey has just begun, and we look forward to many more years of cute, smart and yes, challenging things Callie will do and learn. We love her so much! Here is the update since the last blog. Since I met my goal of monthly updates for a year, I now will be updating randomly (Did you hear the chorus of angels chime in?). We look forward to seeing our beautiful daughter continue to grow up, change and learn new skills! Thank you to those of you who enjoyed our first year blog, and followed Callie's Adventures!

Oct. 12- Grandma came to visit, Callie learned how to blow spit bubbles... save that for the daycare talent show!
Grandma, Rochelle and Hank helped us pack up... WE ARE BUYING A HOUSE!

Callie loves being read to!

Oct. 13- Callie recognized Kahlil as "Dada", and called him Dada since then! Callie also had her Quest Diagnostics appointment to screen for her cow's milk protein allergy... (fast fwd, results are not allergic anymore... but we are in no rush to give it to her either!) Callie started pointing to objects today with her pointer finger. It is adorable! She also started signaling "up up" for when she wanted me to pick her up. This was like a flapping motion... funny. Callie tried banana for the first time, and also a new tooth popped in today! What a full day!

This is Grandma and Callie before and after the blood work. They got matching stickers for doing so well!

Oct. 14 Callie took Mommy's headband off of her head, and put it on her own head. She is adorable... yes we are biased.

Oct. 15- Callie said "Nana", WE THINK for Grandma. Callie used Mommy's phone, holding it up to her ear saying "Hello", which sounds like "heh-ow".

Oct.16. Callie crawled to Daddy saying "Dada", so it is confirmed, she now knows who "Dada" is! YAY!

Oct. 18. Callie now plays peek-a-boo on her own! She is also walking very fast!!! She also tried rice today!

This is Callie before and during the appt... "What's wrong with my ears?" she asks...

Oct. 19- Callie had an ENT appointment to discuss tubes in her ears. Callie did something funny today too! Mommy was patting her back while she made sounds with the vibration... when I stopped, Callie started patting my back! Callie also picked up the remote control and pretended it was a cell phone, saying "Heh-ow" for Hello. She also played with bubbles at daycare! Callie also got another new tooth!

Oct. 20 She finally drank out of a sippy cup. Just like our search for the perfect bottle (took trying 9 types), she settled on one after 5 trials! (Baby business is booming!)

Oct. 23 Callie fed herself with a spoon. She also built the ring tower on her own.

October 24- WE CLOSED ON OUR NEW HOUSE!

October 25- Mommy and Daddy's 4th wedding anniversary.

Oct. 26 noticed that 2 more teeth had appeared... we missed the signs this set!

Practicing for the talent show!

Anything could be a phone!

Callie liked her shadow at the new house for our walkthrough!

Loving the new house the day of the walkthrough

We went to try car seats out... Callie loved the Diono... so we got two. Thank you Grandma, Abuelito y Abuelita

Loving those "asian eyes"...

Oct. 27 Callie had her "Miami" first birthday party. She tried a cupcake, but decided to feed Mommy instead. She gagged on a small piece of icing, and had no interest in the cupcake. Callie got a bad rash this weekend. We found out a few days later that Hand Foot and Mouth was going around at daycare... Pedi thought she may have had scabies, which did not add up to anything we read. Oh the joys of sickness and kiddos! She is fine now... as are the other kids at daycare...

Oct. 28 Pointed to objects all day. This is awesome! Callie is effectively communicating, which cuts back on the screaming!

Oct. 29 Callie signed all day for "more food", and learned how to slide sideways in between the table and high chair. Daddy saw Callie pretend to text, by holding a phone sideways. She also busted open the container of puffs today! Someone is growing and hungry a lot!

October 31- Halloween Party- Callie's first Halloween. Callie just had received this outfit from Abuelito for her birthday, and since it came with long sleeves, we rocked it, and it was easy to match, since we already had the Miami Dolphin gear!

Callie banged on these like they were drums

November 2- CALLIE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!! ACTUAL BIRTHDAY! It was cold the day of her birthday, as you can see she was bundled up for daycare!

Callie does this motion back and forth a lot!

November 3- Callie pointed to the baby doll's ear and then to her ear! One-to-one correlation... ;)
She also chased us around the kitchen island. We had Callie's first birthday today in Orlando. It was very nice, many friends, family and loved ones. I also went to ask Kahlil where something was, and when I said "Where's..." Callie started thinking I was going to say "Where's Callie?", and she started playing peek-a-boo by covering her face with her hands. Callie tried the squeezy puree packs today, since her friend Landry was eating one.

November 4- Callie tried and like meatballs, and she signed ALL day for "more food"

Callie went to vote with Mommy and Daddy

November 6- Pediatrician appointment for her ONE YEAR checkup!!!
November 10- Thanksgiving at Ro's early, Callie got 2 new sippy cups!
November 13- suspicion was right, another ear infection!
November 17- Callie is helping us a lot! She makes connections by observing, and she closed the dishwasher door for us, she also has been helping herself get dressed, and when she finds a sock or shoe, she puts it on her foot area! Today Callie also kissed mommy by saying "mush" sound. I think she saw someone at daycare blowing kisses because she will blow kisses now!!! She is also finally ticklish on her toes!
November 18- Balloon release for November baby Ella.
November 18- Callie is playing pretend now!!! She flipped a toy upside-down to look like a cup, and passed it to Daddy to play tea time I guess haha.... Daddy made a sipping sound, as did Callie, as they shared invisible drinks :) She also imitated Beyonce when singing on TV in a nice jungle of high pitch sounds! THIS PHASE IS AMAZING to see her imitate more!
November 19- FIRST INCIDENT REPORT at daycare... Callie and someone else were fighting over toys somehow at daycare and she scratched someone. Oy.

Stay tuned, whenever I find time, for more images and videos!
