She is doing SO WELL with her bottles! I think she just was not ready when we originally tried at like 1 -2 weeks old! I kept reading "Start introducing after week 4", and I thought "HOW IS THIS TRUE FOR NON BREASTFEEDING MOMS!?", so we tried and tried many bottles, only to be frustrated and not successful, and causing me to never sleep... lol. BUT, NOW SHE IS A PRO! Our friend Missy leant us some Dr. Brown bottles and pieces, which saved us so much money! THANKS MISSY! We just bought a few extra nipples and other travel pieces to have more of, but we have only spent a few dollars on adding to her collection! What a deal- Babies are EXPENSIVE.
I keep thinking about how much clothes she has... and then I see toddlers in Target and say "OH MAN, I HAVE TO BUY CLOTHES EVENTUALLY", because she has tons of clothes but not for ever!!!
Here is Miss Bottle Queen helping me hold the bottle. She obviously is too young to hold it herself, but she rests her hands on the bottle some times. So cute! Look at those gorgeous eyes (I am biased, but STILL!)
Callie was reintroduced to her rattle. I had tried to "play" with her at maybe week 2 or 3, and I overstimulated her and she was crying all day and could not sleep. Now that she has more of a routine, AND NO COLIC, we can play more! She typically eats and then stays awake anywhere from 0 to 60 minutes... naps... then wakes up or we wake her for the 3 hour later feeding. Rinse and repeat until night time, where we let her sleep as close to 5 hours as she can. I hope soon she can learn to soothe herself to sleep. We have been relying on the swing to help her relax. At the 1 hour after eating mark, she tends to whine and cry a lazy cry, as if she is frustrated and tired... Thank G-d for the swing!
Callie is working hard on tracking things! This past week we really have been focusing on tracking Mommy and Daddy as we move back and forth, or left and right in an arc above her. She seems to enjoy moving her head and neck and following us! Sometimes I will use her rattle. I am SO excited to see what is next to happen! She already is super strong, so perhaps she will roll over next? Hmm!
Stay tuned.
