At the pediatrician appointment, we got an eye ointment for her clogged tear duct since now it is a lil more gunky yellow/green/crusty when she awakes... She also has a new medicine to rub inside of her mouth for thrush, and a new butt cream: Triple Paste for the raw skin diaper rash.
WHAT AN ORDEAL for a little girl!
BUT- this is a new baby!
The pediatrician said she now can sleep up to 5 hours before waking her in the night, which is great, because the past 2 nights we pushed the envelope in 30 minute increments. I fed her at 10 and at the 3 hour mark on my alarm clock (1 am), she was asleep (so I pumped to wean), so then I set my alarm 4 more times in 3 minute slots, and she made it to 5 on her own. I did wake her at 3 to feed. Daddy was conked out on the couch, so I just let him rest since he has to work. I fed her and then she slept soundly until 6:30. Of course, Mommy could NOT get back to bed then, so we started our day.
The pediatrician said it was a new baby experience too- as she only knew Callie for her crying! :( Poor baby. She had a bad reputation for 5 weeks!
She is starting to become very predictable in her routine. Our SCHEDULE is not 100% timed, and I don't expect it to be.
Callie is REALLY GETTING STRONG! She also today weighed in at 8.8! That means that she gained 1.5 ounces a day since the last visit! The expected norm is .5 to 1 oz a day. I think she is an overachiever like Mommy, and did not want to be "below" any scores! LOL.
Here are my kissable, squishable, lovable cheeks!
Stay tuned.
